Janet Ingersoll

Janet Ingersoll  is serving Sussex Wesleyan as Administrative Assistant.  She had a very happy childhood while growing up in Moncton. Upon graduating she attended UNB, Bethany Bible College (Kingswood University) and graduated from Oulton’s Business College. In 1975 she married and together, she and her husband, Don, worked at Bethany Bible College overseeing the music & outreach departments. Then, in 1979 and 1981 respectively, God blessed them with two wonderful children, Lindsay and Brad.

Although working from home as a Piano Teacher for 20 years, Janet has always been very involved in the work of the church assisting her husband in ministry. In 1981 they went to Moncton Wesleyan as Ministers of Music where Janet played for the services and helped with the music and choir departments and the Living Christmas Tree. In 1985 they moved back to Sussex where she was very involved with her husband as directors of Caton’s Island Youth and Retreat Center, and assisted in directing the music program at Sussex Wesleyan.

Five years later she moved with her family to Kings Valley Wesleyan Church in Quispamsis to support Don in his role as Minister of Music. When he became the Senior Pastor, Janet became the full-time Director of Music. They were blessed to have had 18 wonderful years of ministry at Kings Valley.

After leaving Quispamsis, she and Don moved to Moncton where Don took up the position of Associate Pastor in charge of major productions. Janet served as his part-time assistant and together they oversaw the Living Christmas Tree, Easter productions, and various other major events at the church. It was during this time that she was blessed with two fantastic grandchildren, Colton & Cailyn. Now, Janet serves Sussex Wesleyan as Pastor Don’s assistant and oversees the work of the central office. Her greatest desire is to encourage people and to see a church that is on fire for the Lord; a moving and happening place in the community making a difference in the lives of those who attend and in the community at large.

As a committed follower of Jesus Christ, Janet has learned that developing and maintaining intimacy with Him is of highest value. She understands that life has its challenges and it is only the Holy Spirit that can provide what is needed to successfully get through it all. Things in life come and go but our relationship with God is all that will matter in the end. So, for the multitude of good things God has blessed her with, she is truly thankful, and for the times that are not so pleasant, she praises God that He holds her hand and is an ever-constant Companion and Guide. To God be the glory!
